Learning – I mentioned earlier that prospective leaders typically come to this course, or stage of their career, with strengths in 2-3 of the dimensions (People, Process, Project, Product, Technology).Since we are talking about engineers here, your technology knowledge is usually strong.It’s also very difficult for me to provide a course on specific technologies, since the students here come from many different domains and technologies.In this section, we will talk about how to learn new technologies, assess your team’s technical capability, and lead a learning organization. We will also discuss the importance for you to keep up with technology during your leadership career.
Leading innovation – Learning about technology is nice, and fun for me, but not enough. Technology has to be applied to solve problems or provide value to your customers. We will review several methods towards leading an innovative organization and making sure you are investing time to innovate.
